There is no denying a transformation of how companies buy IT products and services is taking place, although the final results are likely still a few years away, Barb Darrow writes. Vendors and partners who don't catch on early could find themselves having difficulty keeping clients and maintaining revenue as more businesses want to try products before buying and are looking to open-source and other new technology options, Darrow writes.
