Mich. franchise growth reflects national trend

Entrepreneurs in southeastern Michigan are taking advantage of an improving economy and business tax reforms by opening franchises, including Closets by Design, Anago Cleaning Systems and ComForCare. Franchise growth in the state reflects the national trend, as the IFA expects more than 775,000 new franchise businesses to open nationwide this year, a 1.4% increase compared with last year. "We had a lull in franchises, with many people staying on the sidelines," said Mark Cory, a FranNet owner and franchise placement specialist. "With the better economic climate and positive news, now they're ready to jump in."
