Gel to control surgical bleeding prompts purchase by Sanofi

Sanofi has announced it will buy the medical device manufacturer Pluromed and intends to commercialize LeGoo, Pluromed's gel that helps to limit bleeding during surgery. "LeGoo is a breakthrough technology with the potential to change the paradigm of vascular and cardiovascular surgical procedures, by providing fast, temporary control of blood flow while avoiding vessel trauma," according to a Sanofi executive.
