34 states increase construction workforce in January

Construction employment rose in 34 states in January and has increased in 24 states over the past 12 months, according to an analysis of federal labor data by the Associated General Contractors of America. Texas topped the list of states that added the most number of workers between January 2012 and January 2013, while Kansas didn't do so well, shedding 4.7% of its construction jobs over the year. Florida came in at No. 18 of the states adding the most construction jobs.
