Cordray, White win nominations from banking committee

The Senate banking committee last week confirmed the nominations of Richard Cordray to direct the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and Mary Jo White to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission. White won approval with a vote of 21-1, but all Republicans rejected Cordray, who won on a 12-10 vote. Cordray faces a much tougher road in the full Senate.
