Electric mowers offer green alternative to lawn maintenance

Battery-powered, electric mowers can reduce pollution and save on fuel costs, writes Mark Huffman. Some mowers offer relatively powerful batteries and have the capacity to mulch clippings. Self-propelled models may need to be recharged more often. Electric mowers are best suited to small lawns, while gas-powered models are better for wider, sloped yards, said Joe Perrotto, president of Neuton Power Equipment.
