Mold contamination prompts FDA warning on specialty meds

The FDA warned hospital managers and doctors about a nationwide recall of treatments made by Med Prep Consulting, a New Jersey drug compounder, due to potential mold contamination. Mold was discovered in five magnesium sulfate bags distributed to a hospital in Connecticut. The recall includes painkillers and antibiotics as well as treatments used in labor and surgery.
