N.Y. high-school student experiences space camp

Astronaut training that involved experiments, meetings with top scientists, and a chance to participate in flight simulation and rocket building were all part of the training Douglas Berdel experienced at a weeklong training session at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala. The high-school student from Wantagh, N.Y., was one of 227 students from around the world who took part in the Honeywell Leadership Challenge Academy, a program that provides experiential science, technology, engineering and math training to children of Honeywell employees.
