Teachers nationwide say they are bracing for across-the-board federal spending cuts. Of the $85 billion being cut by Sept. 30, $2.5 billion will come from the $70 billion budget of the U.S. Department of Education -- a hit that teachers say they expect to result in larger class sizes, fewer resources and less job security. Other say they are worried that past attempts to spare the classroom from budget cuts will not be possible to maintain this time.
