U.S. still paying costs linked to Civil War

The U.S. continues to make monthly payments to the relatives of Civil War veterans, which suggests costs incurred by wars in Iraq and Afghanistan could last more than a century, according to an analysis by The Associated Press. The U.S. also still pays compensation to veterans of the Spanish-American War, World War I and WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
