Companies see cost benefits in wellness programs, nurse says

Businesses are realizing the cost benefits of employee wellness programs and are "getting on the bandwagon," says Joann Namey, a registered nurse consultant for the Pennsylvania Department of Health. She says companies have many wellness options, such as health risk assessments, creating a smoke-free workplace, stocking vending machines with healthy food and encouraging employees to lose weight.
