Food companies cater to snack-sized appetites

Consumers are increasingly replacing full meals with snacks, creating new opportunities for restaurants and packaged-food companies. McDonald's fueled an 11.1% rise in February same-store sales with the launch of its Chicken McBites, and Burger King followed suit last week with the debut of two new chicken snack items.
