FRA’s Szabo visits rail extension project at Wash. state port

Federal Railroad Administrator Joseph Szabo on Monday visited a rail extension project that will connect BNSF's east-west tracks to the Port of Vancouver, Wash. The project, which is expected to speed up both freight and Amtrak trains, is part of an $814 million investment in the Pacific Northwest Rail Corridor by the Transportation Department. "These investments create American jobs in construction and manufacturing, increase America's exports, and make the Pacific Northwest a better place to start a business or hire new employees," said Szabo.
