Portion size is a useful part of new meat labels, dietitian says

New nutrition labels on meat show portion sizes and how many servings are in a package to help people make better choices, writes registered dietitian Sheah Rarback of the University of Miami. One-ingredient meat does not have carbohydrates, fiber or sugar, so beyond portion size, the key figures to look for are calories, saturated fat and cholesterol, Rarback writes.
