Soy-based supplements may improve A1C levels, heart health

A study of 49 overweight Japanese men and women showed that those who took soy-based supplements containing the S-equol compound for 12 weeks attained lower blood glucose and bad cholesterol levels and better vascular fitness compared with those who took a placebo. The findings were presented at the Women's Health 2012 annual meeting.
