While many Democrats support President Barack Obama's proposal to reduce the tax break for private-plane buyers, the proposal is seeing bipartisan resistance in America's aviation capital. "I'm certainly disappointed that he would do something of this nature," said Carl Brewer, mayor of Wichita, Kan., and a Democrat. "As long as you're doing something to threaten my aviation industry ... I'll continue to speak out against it." Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kan., said, "All the aviation manufacturers want is for [Obama] to stop talking down their industry."
