Conn. district seeks board, community buy-in for curriculum changes

School officials in one Connecticut district are seeking to adopt a new math curriculum that aligns with Common Core State Standards and would delay breaking students down by skill and shift away from a "spiraling" model, in which concepts are revisited over the years. To address concerns, school officials have said they will make the shift slowly and develop a transition plan.
