Hail storm damages several roofs in 3 southern states

A powerful hailstorm swept through parts of Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia and damaged several roofs as baseball-sized chunks of ice fell from the sky. Danny Renfroe, who owns a roofing firm in Columbus, Ga., said the hailstones damaged architectural shingles at one home, while at others, shingles lost granules. Roof repairs on hail-damaged homes in Lee County, Ga., could take six months or more, Renfroe said.
