Polling app lets users crowdsource purchase decisions

Utah-based startup Voto is building a social network that allows users to poll friends on topics such as which pair of shoes to buy or which food item to order. The application has already gained about 100,000 users. Co-founder Nykelle Schlofman said Voto hopes brands will use the social network to learn what consumers are talking about and get focused feedback on products using the polling tool.
