Wash. lawsuit hinged upon club's private status

A judge in a Washington state court determined that the Spokane Country Club was not truly private under the law, making it a public accommodation subject to anti-discrimination laws. After that determination was made, the case involving women country club members was tried before a jury, which found that the club was engaging in discriminatory practices.
