CMS launches demo program for advanced-practice nurses

The CMS on Wednesday announced a call for applications to the Graduate Nurse Education Demonstration program, designed to provide clinical training to advanced-practice registered nurses. Hospitals have two months to apply for the $200 million, four-year initiative, the agency stated. "Better training and support for advanced practice registered nurses will mean higher-quality healthcare," said Marilyn Tavenner, acting administrator of CMS, in a statement.
