Ohio enacts jobs policy for those with developmental disabilities

Ohio Gov. John Kasich last week signed into law a measure aimed at improving employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities, who often face a challenging employment and financial outlook. The executive order creates an "Employment First" policy, requiring case managers at various state agencies to first look at community-based job placements for individuals with developmental disabilities before placing them in sheltered workshops.
