Apple reports using 100% renewable energy in data centers

Apple announced that it is using 100% renewable energy in all of its data centers, including offices in Maiden, N.C., and Austin, Texas. The company also revealed that 75% of the total energy used in all its corporate facilities worldwide comes from renewable energy. "Apple's announcement shows that it has made real progress in its commitment to lead the way to a clean energy future," said Gary Cook, senior IT policy analyst at environmental group Greenpeace.
