Bill could delay SEC's MA definition, Cross says

John Cross, head of the Securities and Exchange Commission's municipal bond office, said that legislation pending in the House could delay the agency's efforts to define municipal advisors. "We'd have to start over" if the legislation is approved, Cross said. "It would still be a high priority. Just, in terms of process, we would need a new rule proposal under the new statute."
