Leukemia patients lack palliative care services, study finds

Palliative care referral rates for acute leukemia are low, even though patients' symptoms reflect a great need for the services, according to researchers from University Health Network in Toronto. Palliative care models especially for leukemia patients are needed to support patients during treatment and potentially to the end of their lives, researchers reported in the journal Leukemia Research.
