Senate refuses to take up legislation on airport towers

The Senate refused to consider legislation that would prevent some air-traffic control towers from closing due to sequestration budget cuts. The Federal Aviation Administration plans to close as many as 189 contract towers, as well as 48 towers staffed by the FAA.
