Significance of voluntary benefits is up, study says

Voluntary benefits are becoming more important for businesses, as 58% of employers consider them a "significant benefits strategy," a new survey suggests. Forty-five percent of surveyed employees said voluntary life, dental and disability benefits play an important role in deciding to join a company. "The weak economy has sharpened employee interest in benefits -- especially for benefits that meet personal and diverse needs," the study says.
