Study looks at oxycodone use in palliative care

A small U.K. study found many oxycodone prescriptions written for palliative care patients by generalists and other nonpalliative specialists were not appropriately prescribed. The report in the European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy said, "The specialist palliative care team should be consulted for advice in cases of complex pain management."
