SXSW offers huge boost to geo-location hopefuls

Last week's South by South West event offered a major lift to Foursquare and Gowalla, a pair of geo-location service providers that acquired thousands of new customers after releasing software updates before the Austin, Texas, technology, film and music fest. Most of the additions subscribed via iPhones, the companies said.
