Jobs go unfilled as employers search for suitable candidates

Some employers say they are posting job openings, attending job fairs and interviewing candidates, but they cannot find the skilled labor they need to fill jobs. Economists partly blame the problem on poor communication between applicants and companies. "A person looking to hire doesn't know exactly what he's looking for or how to measure it, let alone whether the applicant has what he needs," said David Goldenberg, an economist.
