Dense breast tissue is tied to higher risk of cancer recurrence

Breast cancer is more likely to recur in women with a higher percentage of dense breast tissue, according to a study presented at the European Breast Cancer Conference in Vienna. Researchers said breast density should be considered when screening patients and during the development of their treatment plans. Researchers, however, said they did not observe a link between breast density and survival or distant metastasis.
