Robust demand for new iPad helps set AT&T tablet-sales record

AT&T says it set a one-day record for iPad sales and activations on Friday, the day it began selling Apple's 4G Long-Term Evolution-capable tablet, with Apple CEO Tim Cook telling analysts he was "thrilled" with the demand he witnessed for the device. While AT&T did not offer details on specific numbers, Apple reported that consumers bought 3 million LTE iPads during the weekend.
