Idaho Senate approves animal-neglect bill

A bill that would distribute the responsibility for resolving animal-neglect cases has cleared the Idaho Senate and will go to the state House for further consideration. Under the measure, the state's agriculture department would retain responsibility for cases involving production animals, while local law enforcement would handle cases involving household pets.
