T-Mobile ditching long-term contracts, eyes 8 LTE sites

T-Mobile USA is eliminating long-term wireless contracts in favor of a series of new plans, including a $50 monthly package with unlimited voice and text along with 500 megabytes of data, with each additional 2 gigabytes of data costing an extra $10. Customers will either pay full price for the phones upfront or face a monthly surcharge. Also, T-Mobile will reportedly kick-start its Long-Term Evolution network in eight cities this week.
