1 in 6 Americans living in multi-generational households

Fifty million Americans -- or close to 1 in 6 people -- are living in multi-generational households, oftentimes spanning three generations. One driver, according to the Pew Research Center, which conducted the study, is the economy, which has caused many young adults to return home. There are also cultural factors at play.
