New cap, bigger fees are part of H-1B proposal

The Senate's proposed immigration bill is likely to include a new cap and higher fees for companies that use a large number of H-1B visas. The bill is still in the works, but IEEE-USA has declared its support for related legislation. "This, along with increasing the number of green cards available to high-skill workers, would strengthen job retention and creation in the United States," Marc Apter, president of IEEE-USA, said in a statement.
