Fans of the casual dining pioneer Bennigan's are enjoying the chain's comeback attempt driven by a franchisee group that now operates 85 restaurants in the U.S. and abroad. The chain faces challenges, though, chief among them the raft of competing concepts that didn't exist the first time around. "They're all competing for the same type of customer. And it's not 'location, location, location,' but 'customer, customer, customer,'" said retail consultant Bill Stinneford.
