RFA's Dinneen urges environmentalists to see ethanol's benefits

It is "troubling" that some environmental activists are joining oil companies in bashing the Renewable Fuel Standard and homegrown ethanol, writes Bob Dinneen, president and CEO of the Renewable Fuels Association. Experts have confirmed that ethanol is cleaner than gasoline and helps keep carcinogenic components such as benzene out of the air, Dinneen states. The RFS, by promoting biofuel use, attracts the stream of investments needed to bring advanced biofuels to the marketplace, Dinneen notes.
