Top NATO commander testifies on missile shield

The head of the U.S. European Command told a Senate panel on Tuesday that failing to build a missile shield in Eastern Europe would deprive NATO of a "first shot" against an Iranian attack. Army Gen. Bantz Craddock said Europe is responsible for defending against short- and mid-range attacks, but expects the U.S. to handle long-range threats, as promised.
