A closer look at the growing popularity of dual immersion

Dual language programs in elementary schools are increasing throughout the country, and especially in California. Most of the programs teach Spanish, but Mandarin is on the rise as well. The goal is to make students bilingual early in life. While these methods have many proponents, experts are still debating whether they are the best way to help English language learners.
