Bill seeks to dismantle Fla.'s renewable fuels standard

Florida state Rep. Matt Gaetz has introduced a bill that would eliminate the state's renewable fuels standard, which requires that all motor-vehicle fuels in the state contain 9% to 10% ethanol, or other biofuel, by volume. Automotive expert and radio host Bobby Likis testified against the bill Friday during a House committee hearing. Patrick Ahlm of Algenol Biofuels also testified against the bill, saying it would discourage investments.
