DHS issues draft personnel-security regulations under CFATS

The Department of Homeland Security on Friday released proposed rule-making on employee background-check requirements for chemical plants under the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards. Under the proposal, chemical facilities would be given three options, including having Transportation Worker Identification Credential readers installed in plants. Chemical facilities may also propose alternative options.
