Report looks at barriers that prevent full use of NPs

State scope of practice laws combined with unfair reimbursement policies are preventing nurse practitioners from practicing to the full extent of their training and education, according to a new report from the National Institute for Health Care Reform. The report's findings are similar to what AANP has seen, said Tay Kopanos, AANP's vice president of state governmental affairs. Twelve states are considering bills related to practice authority.
