Why cost-saving strategies aren't working for some companies

Large companies are finding it more difficult to achieve cost-reduction targets, according to a survey by Deloitte. Nearly half of respondents report failure to reach goals, compared with 37% in 2010 and 14% in 2008. Deloitte posits that some companies fail because they concentrate on the same business areas every year, even if savings delivered are not at the same level as before.
