Federal student-loan debt collectors prompt complaints

Debt collectors prompt more complaints to the Federal Trade Commission than any other industry, and some struggling student-loan borrowers cite the tactics used by collectors working for the Education Department. With more than $67 billion in federal student loans in default, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is considering oversight of large debt collectors.
