Nursing school enrollment grew last year

A survey released by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing revealed a surge of enrollment in baccalaureate, master's and doctoral nursing programs in 2011, leaving nursing schools without space for 75,587 qualified applicants. Enrollment in entry-level baccalaureate nursing programs and in baccalaureate programs for nurses with diplomas or associate degrees increased 5.1% and 15.8%, respectively.
