Bill on dietary guidelines for public cafeterias clears Iowa Senate

The Iowa Senate has passed a bill to require cafeterias in state buildings and public universities to post data on calories, sodium and saturated fat on menus and to follow American Heart Association guidelines on calorie restrictions. The measure, which now moves to the House, would help fight obesity in the state, said state Sen. Janet Petersen, D-Des Moines.
