Editorial: Los Angeles digital sign debate raises broader issues

The Billboard and Visual Environment Visioning Group in Los Angeles must consider the interests of digital sign opponents who want the 100 electronic billboards around the city taken down to comply with current laws, and Clear Channel and CBS Outdoor that spent millions taking down traditional billboards and replacing them with digital signs. The Los Angeles Times editorial board says the case raises bigger questions about how the city's laws and policies are made.
