First-class cabins are becoming obsolete on some routes, with many of the same perks available for thousands of dollars less when fliers sit in business class. "There is still a market segment willing to pay for first class. The demand is still there, but not everywhere," said Don Buckenburg, managing director of sales for Lufthansa.
