Halliburton rejects BP's claims about cement samples in spill trial

Halliburton said it didn't destroy key cement samples that could have been used as evidence in a civil trial over the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, contrary to the accusations of BP. The U.K. oil major is seeking to redirect attention from its accountability in the incident, lawyers for Halliburton said. "There is no evidence that [Halliburton] acted deliberately or intentionally, or that the isolation of the [missing cement] was the result of anything other than a simple misunderstanding," the lawyers said.
